A good hockey player plays where the puck is. A great hockey player plays where the puck is going to be. ~Wayne Gretzky

Proverbs 14:8

The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way,

But the folly of fools is deceit.

Being prudent in business and life means looking ahead. It is said that most people take more time to plan a vacation than other important things in their life. Most businesses do not have a working business plan. Most people do not have a working financial strategy. Most companies don’t have strong marketing plans.

A very successful business consultant was telling me last week that he sees most people and companies getting into trouble because they are not planning ahead and taking actions early enough in advance to avoid future problems. Most people are not looking ahead enough to take advantage of trends and changes.

Most people and companies react to circumstances instead of being proactive.

The good news is we can take the time to look ahead if we choose to. We should all, together with God, plan our work and work our plan.
