It’s a well-known fact that building and maintaining energy is important to our everyday lives. It helps you live with passion, earn what you’re worth, attract positive people around you and it just makes you feel good. Many of these tips you have probably heard before, but what I want you to think about is, “Do I use these tips?”

We all need proper sleep. It needs to be consistent and regular. It’s been studied that U.S. companies lose $150 billion dollars every year due to employee fatigue. Some things you might want to do to help your quality of sleep are don’t watch TV or read a book that will keep you engaged, try to minimize light exposure, and keep noisy sleeping pets outside the bedroom.

Eating Healthy

Make sure that the food you eat is healthy and part of a balanced diet. Organic fruits and vegetables are a great option and have many of the vitamins you need. Make sure to drink a lot of water throughout the day. Water helps you stay energized more than you might think. Research says to eat small, healthy meals every 2-3 hours to keep from overeating and to keep your metabolism going. Some of the best things to have in your diet are nuts, whole grains and bran, fish, fresh vegetables, berries and lean meats.

It’s a fact that the more we exercise, the more energy we build. We need to exercise daily or at least 3 times a week to be healthy. You may need to come up with some ways to stay motivated to exercise. I would advise choosing something you enjoy. Do you like to hike? Swim? Jog? Play sports? Do something you’ll enjoy. Maybe bring along your MP3 player and listen to music if that makes it more enjoyable. And if you want to, one of the most effective ways to keep exercising is to do it with a partner. Find someone who will help motivate you on the days you are feeling lazy. Exercising with a friend can really help keep you on track.

Learn to relax. Building energy means that you also need to give yourself time to recharge. Try things like breathing exercises, exercising, visualization, music, filling the room with soothing aromas, reading, napping, baking, cleaning, singing, or gardening. Any of those can help you relax.

Get Organized

Being organized reduces a lot of stress. If you know where everything is, you don’t have to spend time and energy trying to find it. It lets you focus on things that need your attention. And it also helps you relax. Many people spend the time they should be relaxing trying to find stuff. Get organized and feel better.

Having energy is very important and it makes you feel better. Even though everything I’ve said you have probably heard before, make sure you are actually implementing it. It’s a very different thing between knowing and doing. If you want more energy, you need to decide to do what will give you energy. Make the decision now.
