You can start by creating a page or identity in the different venues for your business. Many social media sites, such as Facebook, allow you to create pages specifically for a business. You can provide pictures, information, and people can even leave reviews for the benefit of others.

Provide regular updates and information on what you offer to those who are following you. One of the key things is to provide VALUE to your followers. Give them a reason to follow you other than just to buy something from you. Add value to their life so they want to continue to be a faithful customer and social media follower. This could look like articles that help, encourage or enrich them; tools or keys to success; powerful quotes or sayings that they want to share or help others with. Graphics, pictures and videos are always a good investment of your time in social media. People love to look, like and share tools like those.

Be creative. Think about what you would want and provide that for others. Check out what those who are already using Social Media successfully in your area and apply it to your business.

The best way to get out in the world is to first be present. By simply giving people a way to connect with your business, you are giving them an open invitation.

Social media allows you to not only present the facts, but also integrity.

What should set your business apart is integrity. Many organizations are all about the money and closing the deal. When people engage in your business, they should see that difference. Here’s an example. If you are a Christian, through social media, you can clearly state what your business is all about and where you stand in your faith. That’s something God can honor!

Additionally, social media enables you to actively seek out new people to reach. Without advertising and resources such as the Internet, you would be greatly limited to a small pool of customers that surround your location. Thankfully, people who have never heard of you before can find you through social media.

People appreciate thought and effort, and when you pursue them honestly and humbly, they see you sincerely have their best interest in mind. This might mean that an attitude of in-your-face advertising may not be the best way to go. Or it could be, depending on your focus and strategy. Social media is a great way to have your company’s unique voice be heard.

Regardless of your messaging, we still should reach out actively, not passively. Social media doesn’t just grow your business; it can cultivate your Christian walk.That should always be a part of what we are doing.

Your business may or may not increase in wealth or popularity depending on the tools you use, but the important thing is that it increases in health and strength. However, the reality is, healthy things grow. The more healthy your business is, the more it WILL grow. Social media is just one of the many ways in which you can make this vision a reality.
