That’s a great question. Does having a coach in your life make a difference?

The Bible says,

“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”  Proverbs 27:17

In life, we are bound to stumble. But we don’t need to be alone.  A coach can be anyone who you turn to when you find yourself struggling. Coaches have the potential to help you grow in your business, finances, spiritual and personal life. Coaches have proven to be are very effective when it comes to financial and business issues.

What are the qualities of a good coach?

Good coaches care genuinely for your wellbeing. They don’t take advantage of you, but are willing to make sacrifices to help you. They will encourage you to keep growing instead of holding you back. They should be someone you trust with all of your secrets and struggles. Your relationship with them should not feel strictly like a teacher-student relationship, but more like a friendship. A good coach is patient with you even when you are at your weakest point.

Proverbs 22:24-25 says,

“Do not make friends with a hot-tempered person, do not associate with
one easily angered, or you may learn their ways and get yourself ensnared.”

A good coach is one who serves God above everyone else.

If your coach encourages you to sin or go off course, he or she is not genuine. Coaches with definite morals that come from God alone are those worth keeping.

Jesus is the greatest coach you will ever have! The Holy Spirit is often referred to as the Helper or the Counselor. He is the only coach who will never fail you.

It is important that you understand that human beings are not perfect, and that your coach may fail you. It is our calling to love people in spite of their flaws and forgive them when they wrong us. Coaches should be honest about their flaws. They should not pretend that they are perfect. They should be honest about your flaws, as well. That’s important! The truth can hurt, but it is better than sugarcoating a lie.

The Bible says the truth you know will set you free. It’s a powerful scripture. It’s the truth that you KNOW that will set you free. A coach can help you to know the truth when they are led by God themselves. Truth brings freedom!

We don’t have to suffer or struggle by ourselves in this world.

There are no lone rangers in this world. We were not meant to do this journey called life alone. God has provided people with particular gifts to help us in our journey. A coach is one of those people!

No matter how alone we may feel at times, God loves us more than we will ever know. He wants us to learn to trust in Him and overcome obstacles that seem larger than life, through His power. He doesn’t want us to keep our struggles or our faith to ourselves. His desire is that we reach out to those who are slipping away from Him by being a coach. But on the other side, He wants us to accept help from those who are willing, called and gifted to help. When it seems as if there is no hope, Jesus provides coaches to show us the hope we need to make it through anything.
